Colin Holyk, BSc., Pharmacist

Colin grew up in Alberta and worked in his father’s pharmacy after school and during the summers. After graduation from high school his family moved to Vancouver and he attended the University of British Columbia graduating with a Bachelor of Sciences from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1990. He began working as a pharmacist in June 1990 with Michael, his father who was a pharmacist and owner of Kerrisdale Pharmacy in Vancouver. In 1995, Colin became part-owner of Kerrisdale Pharmacy and two years later helped move the pharmacy a few blocks away to it’s current location on West Boulevard and 40th Avenue.

In 2001, he and Michael purchased Hollyburn Pharmacy in West Vancouver and one year later they moved the pharmacy to it’s current location in the Hollyburn Medical Building on 16th and Marine Drive.

Colin became a certified compounding pharmacist and member of the Professional Compounding Centres of America (PCCA) in 2002. He had a compounding lab built in the pharmacy later that year and since then has focused on helping patients with customized compounded medications for hormone health, pain management, dermatology, anti-aging medications, as well as veterinary medicines.

In 2015, Colin received the PCCA’s Canadian Compounding Pharmacist of the Year award and later that year built a compounding lab in Hollyburn Pharmacy. Both pharmacies are PCCA-certified compounding centres.
